EXCITING JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR A ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Our affiliate, South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources, Inc. (SJBHR) has been providing behavioral health services to adults, children and families for over 25 years.
The services provided include, Residential, Outpatient (OP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Adult Partial Care (APC), and Homeless Services.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or other executive, the Assistant Director of Nursing assists in the planning, directing and coordinating nursing care throughout SJBHR based on the needs of consumers enrolled in clinical programs.
In addition, the Assistant Director of Nursing will assume an active role in improving his/her department outcomes and overall organizational performance through participation in agency quality improvement activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide assistance with one hour weekly supervision to assigned staff.
- Assists in the establishment or revision of policies, procedures, and methods relevant to current nursing practice.
- Confers with managers and staff concerning problems of consumer care; analyzes and evaluates overall care in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
- Trains staff and exercises appropriate execution of agency policies and procedures regarding the use, maintenance, and security of equipment, medications and supplies within the Medical Department.
- Performs chart audits, reviews treatment plans, nursing assessments, progress notes and other medical record reviews to ensure compliance with documentation standards and quality consumer care.
- Assists in maintaining Federal and State compliance regarding clinical plan of care.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws.
Assists in interviewing, hiring and training new employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Participate in agency committees and task force as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. A minimum of three years registered nurse experience in a psychiatric setting, One year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
Certifications, Licenses/Registration
Valid New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
