Mathom House & Easton Manor of Edison Court are seeking positive, energetic Youth Counselors to provide supervision, guidance, mentoring, and direction to our residents. Our residential treatment facilities are dedicated to providing responsive and innovative care to adolescent males through a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates counseling, education, recreation, and life skills instruction.
The primary objective of the residential treatment facility is the successful reintegration of a client into his family and/or home community. This is best accomplished by drawing on the strengths and resources of each resident, in partnership with his family, in developing a vision: reality-based outcomes with reasonable and achievable goals. Our Youth Counselors play an integral role in realizing this objective.
Responsibilities :
- Youth Counselors demonstrate a variety of counseling, communication, and parenting skills, which support the formation of trusting, supportive relationships with the residents.
- Maintain safety and security of residents and facility.
- Actively supervise residents during academic instruction, recreational activity, in the community, and in common areas of the facility.
- Collaboratively create residential behavioral goals in conjunction with clinical staff and case manager.
- Create and maintain electronic health records (EHR) and reports to record residents’ progress toward behavioral goals.
- Youth Counselors will be trained in accordance with our structured program policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field is preferred. However, exceptional candidates with a High School Diploma and at least one year previous experience or internship with direct care of children/adolescents required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must pass criminal history (including FBI) and child abuse history clearances.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- The program operates 24/7; therefore, this position requires rotational shift work (8:00am-4:00pm; 4:00pm-12:00am; 12:00am-8:00am). Assigned shifts may vary, allowing for a highly flexible schedule.
